Pete Miller, Chief Strategy Officer
Pete Miller focuses his practice on harmful pharmaceutical products and the companies that manufacture and distribute them. He has been involved in numerous pharmaceutical trials and managed the settlement and accounting of thousands of clients.
Mr. Miller has served on the following Plaintiffs' Steering Committees:
- JCCP 4615, Pain Pump Litigation consolidated in California State Court before the Honorable Gail Adler
- MDL 1968, Digitek Litigation consolidated before the Honorable Joseph R. Goodwin

Mr. Miller's past experience with multi-district drug litigations began with MDL 1203 In Re diet drug products liability litigation. Mr. Miller conducted several depositions of prescribing and treating doctors for the lead trial group and was heavily involved in the initial trials that led to a 9-figure settlement for the firms over 5,000 FenPhen claims. Mr. Miller has also represented clients in the following MDLs:
- MDL No. 1657 – In Re Vioxx Products Liability Litigation.
- MDL No. 1742 – In Re Ortho Evra Products Liability Litigation.
- MDL No. 1905 – In Re Medtronic Sprint Fidelis Leads Product Liability Litigation.
- MDL No. 1871 – In Re Avandia Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation.
In addition, Mr. Miller was appointed the overseer of a Qualified Settlement Fund for the processing and settlement of over 900 Zyprexa claims involved in MDL 1596.
Pete attended Virginia Tech where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Pete became a member of the Virginia Bar in 2002, and is an active member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Pete spent over 10 years as a Navy Fighter Pilot prior to studying law . He flew numerous combat missions in Bosnia and Iraq, receiving the Naval Air Medal for his efforts.
Tom DellaFera, Chief Legal Counsel
Tom graduated from the University of Richmond's T.C. Williams School of Law after receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Mary Washington. His varied legal background began in his final summer at UMW, where he was an intern for Rappahannock Legal Services. While there he worked with indigent clients and attorneys on all manner of cases ranging from civil suits to Social Security appeals to defending evictions.
Prior to graduating from Richmond Law, Tom interned with the Spotsylvania County Commonwealth's Attorney, where he cut his teeth handling misdemeanors and worked with attorneys to build criminal cases, including felonies. In addition, Tom participated in Richmond Law's Intellectual Property and Transactional Law Clinic during his third year of law school. As a Student Associate, he helped clients navigate their nascent businesses through intellectual property and formation issues. Tom's legal experience allows him to efficiently handle procedural issues and focus on client needs.
While studying at the University of Richmond, Tom was on the board of the law school's Student Intellectual Property Law Association chapter and was a member of the Trademark Law Moot Court team, through which he competed in a national competition in New York City. He earned the Intellectual Property Law Certificate with distinction upon graduation.
Tom currently represents individuals who have been diagnosed with Pseudotumor Cerebri stemming from their use of certain contraceptives.
Dr. Luke Miller, Chief Operation Officer
Luke Miller earned his PhD in 2005 and specializes in client analysis management. He has offered his consulting services for Shriners Hospitals, Fairchild, Oracle, Northrop Grumman, Alcoa, CACI, Frontier Technologies, Hanaro Telecommunications, Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, and Korean Ministry of Information; among many other businesses. Luke received his Bachelors, Masters, and PhD at the University of Virginia and Auburn University, and he has written one book and dozens of peer reviewed articles leading to numerous national and international awards for his research. Luke proudly served as officer and program manager in the U.S. Air Force, as well.
Paige Charland, Social Media & Case Manager
Paige earned her Bachelors of Science in Marketing from Franklin Pierce University. Before joining the LPT team, she worked as a digital marketing specialist for the Concord Food Co-op. As LPT's Social Media & Case Manager, Paige is working to expand LPT & Associate's web presence and provide resources for people who have been afflicted by products such as Round Up, the Mirena IUD, and talcum powder in Johnson & Johnson products. Her experience in digital marketing allows her to help LPT & Associates discover new clients and answer client questions, along with providing educational materials and meaningful support to potential clients.
Aubree Poirier, Case Manager
Aubree holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brock University in St. Catharines. She has years of experience in agricultural settings, growing up working on farms in her small hometown of Delhi, also known as the “Heart of Tobacco Country”. Aubree’s wide range of education and employment background also includes teaching English as a second language to international students and immigrants. Prior to joining the LPT team, Aubree was a Senior Financial Advisor for an internationally well-known financial institution. This experience has furthered the development of her strong interpersonal communication skills, reinforcing her ability to assist LPT's prospective clients by answering their questions, and providing them with meaningful support.
Casey Shaughnessy, Case Manager
Casey holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Saint Anselm College. As the Legal Case Manager for LPT & Associates, Casey has taken his years of successful client service experience, spanning numerous industries and client bases and has applied that experience to the team at LPT. Casey's experience has allowed him to optimize client services in order to help the office run as efficiently as possible and to ensure that case loads are managed appropriately. As part of his duties for LPT, Casey organizes case files and addresses any issues that come up with particular cases, such as ensuring that attorney-client relationships do not interfere with other ongoing cases. Working along side our dedicated and successful team of attorneys, Casey monitors the statuses of ongoing cases, answers client questions and refers them to the attorney if necessary, to ensure that no client falls through the cracks and everyone is treated with care and attention.
